Whiskey Battle is a 24-year-old enforcerfor Peola,Georgia’s
Bad Boyz II Syndicate, a dangerous street gang controlling
the lion’s share of illicit narcotics coming into the bustling
port of Savannah.

As a hustler, he does what he needs to survive, which means
making the right connections with the underworld.

Together, the bosses and thugs of the low country join forces with rogue cops
to bring a permanent end to the term of a meddlesome police chief, whose war
on crime has angered many of the shot callers and big ballers of the dirty-dirty.
With the headache of the top cop gone, can they depend on the crooked officers
to eliminate their connections?

Reader Reviews

King pulls the reader into the dangerous world of the southern drug game.
This story is full of non-stop drama, police corruption, and murder that will keep readers glued to the pages. Mo' Dirty is a gritty page-turner that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Darrel King has been writing ever since the age of eight. His first published work of fiction was penned during the fall of 1976 as a student of Mary Field’s Elementary School on South Carolina’s Daufuskie Island. This effort was an adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkein’s “The Hobbit,” that he also wrote and illustrated. It was published in the school’s quarterly periodical, “The Daufuskie Kid’s Magazine.”

Darrel King has written stories and numerous poems, several of which were published in the 1995-1996 “Poetry Anthology” by the National Library of Poetry in Owings Mills, Maryland.

During the 90s, Darrell King became inspired by and attracted to the lurid tales of inner city crime. Dramas he read in novels by great writers such as Donald Goines and Iceberg Slim captivated his attention. These tales prompted Mr. King to begin his literary career writing his very own stories of urban crime and inner city drama.

Darrel King is the author of Mack Daddy: Legacy of a Gangsta, Dirty South and How Do You Want It?, Mo' Dirty is his latest release and the much anticipated sequel to Dirty South.

Darrell King was raised in South Carolina's Daufuskie Island. He now resides in Maryland with his wife and children.

Welcome to Mahogany Darrell!

There arent as many books out about gangs as there are for other issues that plague today's communities. In writing both Dirty South and Mo'Dirty, did you have to do alot of research or does it come from your personal experiences? Is there any subject that you have trouble writing about?

Reply to This

Well I'd have to saty that I actually experianced about 75 to 80% of what I wrote about in both of the novels.I don't really have trouble writing about any one subject because I really enjoy challenging myself to be better!

Hi Darrell
Welcome to Mahogany, thanks for visting us!

The book sounds good.
What are you working on now?
How old were you when you left Daufuskie Island?

What do you think sets your book apart from the rest of the urban lit novels?

Hi Darrell! Is there anything specific that you'd want your readers to get from reading your books other than pure entertainment? Thanks for chatting with us :)

Sure I'd like for the readers to get a feel of the Gullah/Low country culture and lifestyle of which i'm deeply proud of and happy to have been a part of! It's a rich part of American history in general and African American tradition in particular! There is no other culture like in anywhere else in the United States! And Thank you guys for having me!

Hi Darrell

Thanks for chatting with us!

Which one of your books was the hardest to write?

Reply to This

Wow! I'd have to say "How do you want it" because I must've had well over a dozen or more times i had to rewrite that manuscript! LOL! (The editors were really tough on me for that one!)
