What's Hot!. What's New For Your Literary World

First Lady Audrey Graham is not above getting into other people’s business. Especially when it comes to her only son, Stiles, who’s freshly back from divinity school. She wants him to follow in his father’s preacher footsteps, with the right woman by his side. And she’s going to choose that woman, naturally. She’s got her eye on her daughter Francesca’s best friend, Rena Jackson, to become Stiles’ bride. What she doesn’t realize is that Rena’s actually deeply in love with Francesca and that they’ve been having an affair for years. Neither of Francesca’s parents know she’s gay, or about the brutal rape by a youth pastor that she feels made her that way. But the truth’s about to surface—and lives are about to change....

My Son's Wife is more than a love triangle, it's a time bomb set to explode with twists, turns, entanglements and sinful revelations that only a loving, non-condemning God can ever make right.

Welcome to Mahogany Sheila!
Thanks for visiting with us.

Are all your books urban christian?
How did this story come about?
what inspires your writing?

Hi, I'm excited to be hear this evening. To answer your questions, yes, all of my books are Christian fiction, not necessarily Urban, but they are Christian fiction. My writing is given by inspiration from God. The titles of my books come first and afterward, God inspires me to write a story that centers around the title of the book.

Hello Mahogany Book Club! What an honor. I wanted to stop in much earlier but Sunday turned out to be far more hectic than I expected. I hope everyone who takes the time to choose My Son's Wife will enjoy it.

You're on time. it runs from the 7th - 13th.

That is different, you pick the titles first. I don't think I've heard that before.

Yes, I know it sounds a little different. But that's the way God gives me what He wants me to write. Without a title, there's no story. Now that I have a 'bank of titles', all I do is pray over which story God wants me to manifest into book form and then I sit at my computer, pray, and start writing!

I've always enjoyed reading from the time I was a young child. I loved writing essays and doing research papers -anything that had to do with writing. I started out by writing speeches and poems for other people. After a tragedy occurred in my own life that shook me to the core, I began to journal. From that journal, God placed in my spirit that I should use my pain to write a novel. It's amazing how God uses even the worst of times to bring out the best in us. So even in the midst of my pain, God showed me what my true purpose in life was, and that was writing. I never thought about anything else except writing stories that would touch people's lives and even change their lives in a good way. I wanted them to see the forgiving power of God even when we mess up something terribly. As for my poems, they are a mixture- from love poems, to Christian poems, to even a few songs I've written. I can't wait to publish my book of poetry but right now, completing manuscript after manuscript for my publisher keeps me awfully busy.

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions. I saw your book in a store this past weekend and the title piqued my interest. Many authors write their books "open-ended" so that they have the option to later do a sequel. Are any of your books destined to be sequels?

Reply to This

I never thought about writing sequels - until this new book 'My Son's Wife'. I said I would only write a sequel to a book if God placed it in my heart to do so. With My Son's Wife he has given me confirmation that I am to write a sequel to it. This will be my first sequel so I don't know what God has planned for me to write as far as sequels in the future.
