Actually I did not do very well in Ike. I lost my home. I also lost almost everything inside when a tornado dumped a huge pine tree on my house. It rained inside and the wind blew inside. We have been displaced to an apartment. I am using the apartment's computer so I may be absent a bit for a while. I hope everyone understands.

What's the book about? Well...is it worse to love your mother and lose her or never to know her at all? Cess, a rich girl from Park Ave and Obie, son of "the disappearing junkie" knew there wasn't a difference: you were still motherless. This one fact binds them for life, so when Cess decides she wants to be a star Obie, who was discovered dancing on a corner when he was eleven, decides to show her the ropes.
Of course they fall in love right? And with skin color issues and social class conflicts it's never easy, but their biggest problem occurs when Cess's need for emotional distance crashes head first into Obie's fear of abandonment. Then the question becomes: can a motherless child ever truly open his or her heart enough to love someone else?
